The trees think it's fall, at least...

Grama's post made me miss Autumn in Vermont, especially because this year in Virginia, the trees are the only things making it Autumn-like at all. We had a few of those cool, crisp, fall days, but lately it's been far to warm out to feel like Autumn. I hoped that because it rained last night, it might cool a little bit, but not yet... at least the sun is shining though! I know this tree I took a picture of isn't all orange or red, and it's not particularly vibrant, but I thought this one was neat because some leaves are red and some are still green. Other trees seem to change all at once, but this one is taking it's sweet time- just like the weather! :)

I also wanted to update everyone and say that the new job is really awesome. The people I work with and for are great- although I haven't met the Chief yet. The day before yesterday we had some "excitement"- although I didn't find out until yesterday morning- when there was the first homicide in the city since May of 2006! They don't get those very often, but all the manpower comes out for such an event. In the morning I copy (and read) all cases dealing with a victim, or witness, and the Lieutenant let me read another related case, as well as the search warrant for the homicide. It's just really neat because he recognizes that I'm educated in this stuff and that I'm interested in seeing it all. I could have even gone to the autopsy if I had gotten in at 7 instead of 7:30! Although, I'm not sure if I'm ready for that yet, haha... but maybe someday. Anyways, I just think I've been blessed with finding a job that is going to be great for me- even though it wasn't exactly what I was looking for!

So, yay for all the accomplishment in our family! I miss you all lots and I'm glad I'm able to read this thing and see all that's going on with everyone! Love and hugs! :)

Christie,
I know what it is like to wnat to have autumn be cool and crisp. WE hit 80 degrees here today. But, our leaves are changing, finally.
And, though we have the fans going in the bedroom, I am enjoying my oatmeal for breakfast. It always reminds me of fall.
