Bump in the Road

Last night Cindy posted on her personal blog and commented about the bump in the road in Ashaway. By the time I read her post, she had two other comments.

So I have to ask: Does anyone else have a memory of that "bump in the road"? I don't want to give too much away.

Just asking.

One of the joys of a close family are the memories that tie us together. It tickled me to know my Vermont daughter remembered flying over the bump.

I'm gonna see if it is still there............

Good Grief, Nuts!!

To set all records straight... The "Pasta Orgy" was, is & has almost always been on the second Saturday of February. THIS year it happens to fall on Valentine's Day. No one has been left out of anything because no definite or concrete plans have been made. I simply answered a question for Kyle, believing that I would have some time to talk things over with my daughters to see about possibly changing the date. WHEN we have made a decision about it we will pulish a BIG notice on the blog and invite everyone. PLEASE give us a chance to talk about this and annonce what, when, where, time etc when things are definite. GEESSSSSH!

GRAMA

Out of the Loop

I understand that the February gathering is annual, so I knew it was coming. But, according to my recurring notice to myself, it would be the following weekend, the 21st.
Like, Karen, and Kyle, some where, I am out of the loop...

I have no excuse for not posting...

I've basically been online constantly since I got to Arlington so I have no excuses for not posting.  Except that nothing exciting had been happening. UNTIL NOW!  I'm sure most if not all of you have heard through the grapevine, but I did finally find a job!  Also, if you didn't know, I moved to Arlington, VA because I couldn't afford to live in Philly anymore so I'm living with Uncle Tim and Aunt Erica and cousins for now.  I was hoping it would be easier to find a job in the nation's capital, and whaddya know? It worked!  I just got hired to be an assistant house manager at Ford's Theatre YAYYYY!!!  House managers are in charge of everything to do with the audience--getting them safely and happily in and out of the theatre, making sure everything runs smoothly, and training the volunteer ushers who are in charge of greeting and seating the patrons.  It's part time right now, but it is possible that it will eventually turn into full time.  It's soooo exciting.  This year is the bicentennial of Lincoln's birth so all sorts of cool stuff is happening, lots of special events.  So I will definitely stay busy.  Also, the theatre was just closed for about a year for renovation and they haven't even reopened yet, but they are having me come in and help prepare and get everything ready for the grand reopening.  So it's a cool sneak peek into the behind the scenes stuff that not many people get to see.  Of course, Tim and Erica are in the process of selling their house and buying one in New Hampshire, so it is possible that within a month's time I will have to relocate again.  My wonderful sister is kind enough that she will take me in until I can afford to get a place for myself.  But overall, very exciting things happening.  I might even be crazy enough to go into the city tomorrow for the inauguration. We'll see how that goes...Well, I like the scattegories thing even though the letter K is not very easy especially since I can duplicate answers.  Thanks mom! Anyway, LOVE Y'ALL!

Book Blog

Hey family!

I just wanted to let you all know that I have created a book blog. Because some of you are joining me in my top 100 book endeavor and are interested in discussing the books, as well as non-list books, I (and Mom too) thought it would be a good idea to create a separate forum for the discussions rather than posting here or on my personal blog.

The blog is called Family of Reading Nuts. Come on over to check it out whether you are reading with me or not- it's still a work in progress, but hopefully it will be hoppin' in no time... and hey, you might learn something.

Love love,
Christie

p.s. There is a photo link on the sidebar, so just click that if you want to visit.

same old stuff

know it has been a while. doing the same stuff i was before. cold as heck out here and cannot wait til april to be back "home".

ELLO!!

What have I been up too????

not much work....so far there is no shifts for me at Valley Vista for this month...hoping I will get a call.
on the sort of upside, Second Growth is moving me up to "Half Time" which I suppose is better than the close to three hours a week there.

Josh and I have baked TWO loaves of bread using the bread maker gramma got Josh for christmas. We have made Italian herb bread and Honey Wheat. both are yummy. We'll have some for the next family gathering.

And although I am not reading any books from the list, I am reading a book called "Don't call it love. Recovering from Sexual Addictions" Don't worry-It's not because I'm addicted haha. RB gave it to me to read to give me an understanding of those who do have that sort of addiction, and how to handle and redirect them when they talk about it. It's heart breaking yet gives me alot of information. For a fun read I'm reading Running with Scissors by the amazing Augusten Burroughs. I have read three of his other books and I just LOVE him!!!

Other than that, not much is up. It's icy and snowy here...I went sideways down the interstate coming home from a meeting, and I wasn't even going forty!!!! So everyone DRIVE SAFE AND BUCKLE UP!

Love everyone!

Hello!

I am up to... life. Just trying to get back into the swing of the regular day after some vacation days.

Still enjoying my Christmas decorations... well, except for the ones strewn all over the dining room table. Hoping to get the condo back in working order by the end of the weekend.

Rain today, but no ice or snow yet where I live or work- thank goodness because people down here drive like crap as it is.

Reading book #100/Midnight's Children and really enjoying it. Hope to make some serious headway on it this weekend. Glad to see others are joining me!

Spending as much quality time with Casey as I can before tax season starts. Mandatory Saturdays start either the 17th or the 24th depending on workload. And this season is going to be worse because he has classes too. Wish us luck and send up prayers!

I hope more people post! I miss you all and love to hear what you are up to in this new year!

Love love!
Christie

Posting via email

I am posting this by email. I just added this address (DolphnsAtSunrise.southworthfamilytree@blogger.com)

to my address book, labeled it Southworth Nuts, and I can send you all an email.

The only thing, you should remember is to sign your name so we know who you are. :)

Love Poopsie J

What I'm Up To:

Work
Still looking at Christmas decorations
Snow, sleet, freezing rain--no snow day for me
Reading "Midnight Children" with Christie and waiting for "The Shack" to arrive
Reorganizing and rearranging the sewing room (again)
Sorting out my cookbooks--anyone interested if I give some up?
Watched "The Biggest Loser" and got mad at the weigh in twist--anyone else?
Waiting for my Amaryllis to grow--it's not looking very hopeful
Is there a way for folks to post via e-mail? Just wondering........

Whatcha' up to?

Me? Not much.
Back to work.
Back to school.
Life is normal, well you know what I mean.
More bad weather coming.
Possible snow day.
Maybe I will have time to read the #100 book with Christie.
Or, maybe I will just get some school work done with Brian.
Either way, I hope you have a GREAT day!
